Fiddle hell comes to Bushey
from the 16th - 18th of October. Three days of FREE workshops, and jam sessions, in diverse styles by professional fiddlers. All levels of fiddlers are welcome. Fiddlehell is where violinists of all ages get together for a week end of fiddling.

The high light of the event will be Sunday's concert when violinists Graham Clark, Chris Haigh and guitarist Richard Bolton go on stage together for the first time. These are giants in the jazz fiddle world.

The venue is The Royal Oak in Bushey. For more information go to our Forum.

  Atelierviolins

Gerard Murphy graduated from the Violin Making and Restoration Department of the The London Guildhall University. Jed has a wealth of experience and is renowned for his attention to detail, love for luxurious materials and passion for the violin.

By his fourth year of college Gerard had completed two commissions for copies of a Mathias Albani 1705 and a J.B. Vuillaume cello and numerous violin repairs. Gerard graduated having completed a quartet of instruments plus four other violins.

Gerard has also carried out restoration and violin repairs for the well known auction houses in London, working on some of the finest Italian period and modern instruments. During that time he built up a clientele of musicians who to this day value his high quality violin repairs and violin restoration work, his knowledge of instruments and their provenance. We at Atelierviolins in Bushey specialise in violins, violas cellos and basses.

Current projects are the making of exact copies of two Joseph Guarneri violins for over seas clients and the restoration of two Italian violins circa 1735 and 1717 respectively.

For exact copies or just new instruments made to specification there is a waiting period of about six months.
